The guitarist Jinhee Kim, born in 1992 in Seoul, is since April 2021 the new professor of guitar at the Trossingen University of Music.
Recently, she has performed concerts at AMG in the "Rising Star" series, at the "Basel Plucks" festival, at the Achtbrückenfestivals with the ÉRMA Ensemble in Cologne, and on a concert tour in Switzerland with the HOAX Quartet. During her studies, she received numerous awards at international guitar competitions, such as the "Maurizio Biasini" competition in Paris and the "Ruggero Chiesa" competition in Italy. In 2010, at the age of eighteen, she won first prize at the "Adelaide International Guitar Competition" in Australia, where she was described by Slava Grigoryan as "a rising star in the classical music scene."
Among her concert and teaching activities, her pursuit of excellence in both areas led her to pursue advanced studies in music physiology in Zurich, where she has acquired knowledge of functional anatomy and brain physiology in relation to music-making. Based on this knowledge, she provides individual counseling sessions and group courses, especially for guitarists.
