Winner of the Vienna International Music Competition 2021 and the Francisco Tárrega International Guitar Competition 2015, João Carlos Víctor has gained international acclaim.He has been invited to renowned festivals, concert series, and on radio and TV inSwitzerland, Norway, Austria, Spain, Brazil, Romania, Belgium, Liechtenstein, and Germany. Since 2022, he has been a guitar and chamber music professor at the LUCA School of Arts in Louvain, Belgium.

 

His debut CD Guitar Recital, released by Naxos in 2016, received critical praise: "threechromatic fantasies by Dowland... are for me reference performances, with immaculateclarity of line, feeling, and intentions." In July 2023, his second CD, I call to you, featuring transcriptions of works by Robert de Visée and Johann Sebastian Bach, was released by JSM Records.
