Evgeniya Spalinger was born in Moscow into a family of musicians. She studied flute in Basel, Lugano and Zurich. A prizewinner in many international competitions, she performs as a soloist and chamber musician. She also plays regularly with the Sinfonietta Basel and the Basel Symphony Orchestra. Evgeniya is particularly interested in playing and communicating contemporary music.

She has premiered over 50 new works for solo flute and ensemble and has worked with well-known ensembles such as Ensemble Modern Frankfurt, Ensemble Contrechamps and Ensemble Divertimenti. Her first CD recording was released in January 2014 under the Swiss label VD Gallo. In 2024, Evgeniya obtained her diploma as an organist at the Zurich University of the Arts. She teaches at the Trimbach/Winznau music school and is an organist in the Reinach-Leimbach Reformed Church. In her hometown, she has been organizing the Yuri Dolzhikow Wind Festival and Competition since 2017.
