Laura Rouy studied guitar at the Municipal Conservatory of Music and Dance in Melun under the mentorship of Christine Martin-Culet and Carlos Marin earning her Certificate of Musical Studies (CEM) with high honors in 2015. She continued her studies at the Regional Conservatory of Paris with Gabriel Bianco and later Antoine Fougeray, obtaining her Diploma of Musical Studies (DEM) in June 2018. Under the tutelage of esteemed musicians like Atanas Ourkouzouno and Benjamin Gras she studied, respectively, chamber music and soundpainting at the Mauric Ravel 13th arrondissement Conservatory in Paris. At the Conservatorium van Amsterdam she obtained a Bachelor of Music Performance in Gabriel Bianco’s class in May 2019 and a bachelor’s degree specializing in pedagogy in June 2023. Currently she is pursuing a Master in Performance/Contemporary Music at the Hochschule für Musik Basel with Pablo Marquez.

She had received recognition for her musical performances wining 2nd prize at the Drome de Guitare Classical Guitar Competition in Valence, under 18 (2016); 1st prize at the International Classical Guitar Competition in Carry Le Rouet (2017); 2nd prize at the International Classical Guitar Competition Drome de Guitare in Valence, Revelation category (no age limit) (2018); 1st prize at the Roland Dyens International Guitar Competition and named Classical Guitar Revelation in Guitare Classique Magazine in Paris (2021).

Rouy regularly performs both as a soloist and with orchestra. Since 2017 she gives concerts as part of the Trioblivion project with guitarist Pascal Rouy and cellist Ella Rouy. With the cellist Pauline Ngolo she forms the Duo Canopée which performed in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland and was selected to join the 2022/2023 season of the Association Jeunes Talents in Paris.
