Marko Topchii

On Tuesday 28 March 2018, cciMB 2016 winner Marko Topchii will perform his second Prize Winner Concert in Basel, Switzerland, organised by the Allgemeine Musikgesellschaft Basel as part of the Rising Stars concert series. Due to the ongoing reconstruction works of the Stadtcasino Basel, which usually hosts the series, the concert will take place in the Volkshaus Basel. Marko will play works by Modest Mussorgscky and Maurice Ravel followed by a quintet performed with string quartet Element.

François Salque joins cciMB 2018 Jury

François Salque, cellist chair at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSDMP) and the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU), is joining the cciMB 2018 Jury for the final round on 2 May 2018. Acclaimed for his profound musical thinking and phenomenal technique, François has already performed as a soloist and as chamber musician in over fifty countries with some of the world’s most renowned artists (Jean-Claude Pennetier, Alexandre Tharaud, Michel Portal, Paul Meyer, among others). Together with Pierre Fouchenneret (violin), Sarah Nemtanu (violin) and Lise Berthaud (alto violin) he founded the Quatuor Strada string quartet which is scheduled to perform a concert accompanying cciMB 2013 winner Emanuele Buono on 30 April 2018 at the Trianon Palace Versailles.

Participants cciMB 2018

The fourth edition of the cciMB 2018  breaks a record with 45 entries coming from all over the world:  Argentina, Canada, USA, Thailand, Iran, Israel, France, Italy and Norway, and Russia to name a few. A big thanks to all participants for their hard work preparing the video registration for the preliminary round.
The Jury is now facing the difficult task to decide who is going to proceed to the semifinal round, to be held fom 27 April to 2 May 2018, at the CRR de Paris, France. A shortlist of at least 12 semifinalists will be announced around 15 December. Good luck everyone!

On Thursday 26 October 2017, Bologna will host Marko Topchii for the first Prize Winner Concert of the 3rd International Guitar Competition Maurizio Biasini - Concorso Chitarristico Internazionale Maurizio Biasini – cciMB (San Francisco, USA, 14 – 17 January 2016). Organized by the Music Association Conoscere la Musica – Mario Pellegrini, the solo recital is part of the Autunno 2017 concert series and takes place in the beautiful Mozart Hall of the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna (Via Guerrazzi, 13). The program, ranging from Renaissance to contemporary repertoire, includes music by John Dowland, Antonio José, Agustín Barrios, Alexandre Tansman, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Joaquín Rodrigo and Nikita Koshkin.
