Pablo Márquez is regarded as one of the most accomplished guitarists of our time. Outstanding interpreter of contemporary music, he is equally acclaimed for his passionated and equilibrated versions of the historical masterpieces as well as the Argentine traditional music.

He had close collaborations with great composers such as Zad Moultaka, Luca Francesconi, György Kurtág and Mauricio Kagel. Pierre Boulez invited him to play Luciano Berio’ Sequenza XI for the 70th birthday celebrations of the Italian composer.

Eager to bring the guitar to new audiences, he collaborates with outstanding musicians, conductors and orchestras, such as Anja Lechner, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Dino Saluzzi, Anne Gastinel, the Rosamunde Quartett, Jan Schultsz, Mario Caroli, María Cristina Kiehr, Susanna Mälkki, Josep Pons, Lorraine Vaillancourt, Dennis Russel Davies, the Bayerische Rundfunk Orchestra, the Philharmonique de Radio France, the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne de Montréal, as well as the WDR and NWD orchestras.

He is an ECM recording artist and teaches at the Hochschule für Musik of Basel.
